My name is Steve and I am based in Toronto, Canada. In a past life I was the
creator of a streaming media authoring tool that made its debut at MacWorld, San
Francisco in 2000. Our software was featured in books and magazines, bundled with
video capture cards and was used by individuals and organizations worldwide. I have
been a classroom training instructor for Internet based courses and have taught
at the university level for interactive television. From there I have developed
many web and desktop software technologies. My perspective on .tel appears to be
unique and I am now combining my skills to claim a major stake in the world of .tel.
"I first heard about .tel about a month and a half before Landrush started and it
was pretty much by accident. I was originally looking for domains for SEO purposes
and started looking at some of the other TLDs. During this search I decided to take
a look at just how many TLDs were out there, and then I came across .tel. After
doing some deeper research I realized there was some serious potential for this
domain and my skills could be put to good use in its advancement."
"I have been building technology for myself and other people for many years now.
Regardless of what the critics may say, I can see the potential of this domain from
several angles. .tel represents an opportunity for ground-level access to something
that will be huge and being part of it just made sense to me. Rather than waiting
to see how .tel will turn out, I am taking an active role to help ensure it's success.
Being first has its advantages and I have managed to create many firsts for .tel:
Telsters.com
- The first independent .tel developer community
telSAP.tel
- .tel stats analyzer program for Mac and Windows OS
I have created a hub site where people can find all of my .tel related sites at
telated.com. I also have several more .tel related .coms that will be opening soon
and a couple of secret projects that are really going to shake things up ;)"
".tel is a new opportunity in the online world and a chance like this will not surface
again. I am building tools and technology that I find useful in my development of
.tel domains and I am fairly certain others will find value in these tools as well.
As I have said publicly before, .tel is a developers dream. I can see the potential
so I am building what is needed to realize that potential and if others can benefit,
everyone wins. I plan to have the most powerful set of tools for .tel publishers
on the Planet."
"The key concept that .tel brings is lean, efficient information. No bloat, no extra
"stuff", just the info you want, ANY info. It's stored in the DNS which gives it
a high "geek appeal" and it doesn't need web hosting. Since it's a completely new
technology it also brings uncertainties and unknowns which are very exciting to
a developer/pioneer/entrepreneur like myself.
.tel is going to change how things work on the Internet. Because it is so different,
it is really going to mess with the status quo and shake things up. When this sort
of thing occurs, some things go up and others go down, I plan to be on the upside.
